Creative Curriculum Design: A Key Skills Approach

 

Many Primary schools are now beginning to develop a more innovative and creative curriculum. However, some schools are left wondering how best to plan for coverage and progress, and how to assess progress in the non-core subjects. This new course looks at planning for the foundation subjects, along with simple ways of assessing and ensuring progress for all children. Different facets of the curriculum are explored, including planning for key skills,
creativity, and ideas for curriculum design and innovation.

• the exploration of curriculum design based on the school’s specific circumstances
• a look at practical elements for curriculum building using assessment for learning
• discussion of manageable ways of planning and auditing the curriculum from the short to the long term
• an introduction to simple strategies for assessment and ensuring progress
• experience a practical session on curriculum design.

THIS COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR
Headteachers, Senior Managers and Curriculum Leaders in Primary schools. Delegates should bring with them a copy of the National Curriculum.
