Personalising the Personalisation!

This course is suitable for In Service, School Clusters, Local Authority Conferences, Workshops, Leadership Teams

All courses can also be provided as consultancy days for heads and school leaders.

This one day training course has been designed to explore the basic principles behind the concept of personalised learning. It moves away from the rhetoric and the obvious, to the use of innovative practices and high quality interventions to personalise the learning and the ethos of the school.

The conference considers the core belief that every single child should be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential, whatever their talent, or background. During the course, colleagues will consider whether high achievement rather than high standards should be the goal, through high quality teaching which is flexible enough to respond to the different ways in which children learn and achieve.

By the end of the day colleagues will have gained strategies to determine how best to go forward, according to their circumstances - personalising the personalisation! Feedback from schools which have already attended this course indicates that there have been tangible benefits for all – children, teachers, support staff, and leaders.

Part of the programme will cover the effective use of a wider range of data to personalise provision in terms of both teaching and the curriculum, and ways in which this can be analysed and used to meet the specific needs of all children in the school – individuals, groups, and cohorts.

Aspects of the day include:

  • Gaining a fuller understanding of the needs of different children and groups of children through a broad range of performance and contextual data
  • Using this information to personalise both teaching and learning, through a close understanding of each child
  • The design of a personalised curriculum, including assessment and planning in foundation subjects
  • Using data to plan learning paths and targets for individual pupils

What delegates will gain from the course:

  • Greater understanding of how to analyse and use data to improve all aspects of provision
  • Further awareness of ways to raise achievement for all children – individuals, groups, cohorts, and the whole school – and the importance of doing so
  • Strategies to support improvement in all five strands of the personalised learning agenda
