This course is suitable for all primary leaders wishing to develop a cutting edge curriculum which meets the needs of all children and all groups of children in an increasingly diverse society.
This one day course will give a clear overview of how to rethink and reshape the curriculum to meet the needs of your children, in your context.
You will be engaged and enthused to deliver this new exciting curriculum and be confident that children will make real progress in a relevant, creative and key skills approach.
Design it
Decide what you want to teach
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? How are you going to get there?
During the day, you will be given opportunity to design a curriculum around what you want to teach and personalise this to the needs of your children through curriculum drivers for your school
Plan it
Plan a creative Key Skills curriculum
Taking the starting point of a creative theme and the principles of a Skills Based Primary Curriculum, you will learn how to plan to ensure progression in the Essentials for Learning and Life. Coverage of the Areas of Learning will be discussed, enabling you and your staff to confidently move forward, building on the existing strengths of your school.
Live it
How do we fit it all in? We will look at the changes needed for a long term impact on the quality of the curriculum; ensuring creativity is not confined to a ‘Wednesday afternoon’! Living it means that children will develop and improve their life skills inside and outside the curriculum.

Feedback from previous events.
"The response from head teachers has been universally very positive.
You spoke with great authority on the Rose Report and changes to the Ofsted Framework as well as being able to draw upon a large number of practical examples from schools with which you have worked.
Most importantly heads were in agreement with the educational principles you hold important around learning, child engagement and rigour!
Your style of delivery was also great - you expressed your views, took all questions and spoke with realism and humour".
