Creative Maths Across the Curriculum

The government’s recent white paper for Education looks at the importance of high quality maths teaching in primary schools.

This training is suitable as INSET within a school or for a group of schools looking to develop the teaching of maths within a creative curriculum.

During the day you will:

  • Explore the importance of teaching maths within a quality curriculum.
  • Expel some common misconceptions about maths.
  • Explore effective ways of building maths in to the curriculum; both implicitly and explicitly.
  • Enjoy a range of activities to help you understand how FUN maths can be!
  • Be challenged on how to action plan for future change.

This day supports schools in exploring, developing and designing a creative, skills based curriculum which is personalised to your school, and which will not only raise standards in maths, but will develop children’s attitudes to learning across the curriculum.

You will get an introduction to curriculum innovation and design, with an emphasis on creativity and the development of key skills and subject specific skills. Essential aspects of the curriculum are discussed, and ways to take forward the existing strengths of the school, whilst developing key areas of learning for all children.
