From Self Evaluation to School Improvement Planning

From Self Evaluation to School Improvement Planning

This day is suitable for either consultancy or training – InService, Leadership Teams, Cluster Groups or Local Authority Training

The SEF is now obsolete..... how will schools continue to evidence good quality self evaluation, leading to strategic developmental planning?

This training stems from the premise that school improvement leading to high achievement for all should lie at the heart of all the school’s plans and action. It looks at the principles of Self Evaluation, and the effective use of findings for development planning. It will support new or relatively new head teachers in their understanding, but also in practical strategies, in order to produce and effective School Improvement Plan.

This day will support head teachers through working in the following areas:
• Identifying the relationship between self evaluation and School Improvement Planning
• An analysis of each stage of school improvement planning
• Consideration of issues, key questions, and evidence trails
• Prioritising action for effective school improvement
• Examples of the structure and content of effective school improvement plans
• Ongoing evaluation of school improvement

Heads should bring their own RAISE document, the current self evaluation document and the current School Improvement Plan. During the workshop, participants will evaluate the effectiveness of their own self evaluation procedures, and work towards goals and actions for improvement.
