Self Evaluation – Springboard for Action

Self Evaluation – Springboard for Action

This course supports head teachers in their preparation for the lead up to Inspection.. It stems from the premise that school improvement should lie at the heart of everything that the school does, and that school self evaluation underpins and indeed is the very foundation upon which all school development is built. This day is suitable for training at all leadership levels, and also for in house consultancy.

This Course offers the opportunity to look at a wide range of evidence to support self evaluation, and to analyse what this might be saying about context, standards, progress and achievement.

During the day delegates will:

  • Explore the complexities of self evaluation
  • Consider the way forward since the demise of the SEF
  • Use self evaluation to support judgments on effectiveness
  • Use self evaluation to link school outcomes to the provision
  • To support schools in their analysis of issues which arise from monitoring
  • To explore the development of evidence trails from key questions
  • To order and prioritise the results of self evaluation
  • Make clear the relationship between self evaluation and school improvement

Benefits of attending this course will be:

  • A more evidence based approach to compiling self evaluation summaries
  • A greater ability to analyse the data to hand and use it to improve provision.
  • A more up to date awareness of what will be required in evidence driven school improvement
